About Me

After graduating from Doane College, Jeff began his teaching career as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher at Fredstrom Elementary School.  He continued his studies for quite some time and earned an additional endorsement in middle grades education through Nebraska Wesleyan University.  During that time he was asked to be a pilot teacher for the middle school concept and helped to open Mickle Middle School as a grade 6-8 school and taught primarily 6th grade, along with additional 7th and 8th grade classes.  During those first eight years in the LPS district he coached at Lincoln Northeast High School.  He was the Head Girls' Soccer coach for eight seasons as well as Reserve Girls' Basketball for one year and Junior Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach for seven years.  He also coached numerous middle school sports at Mickle Middle School as well, including volleyball and football.

Jeff then had the opportunity to move to the Norris Public Schools district to gain leadership opportunity.  He taught 7th grade Social Studies and became the team leader as well as Department Chair for the district K-12 Social Studies department.  He also served as the Head Girls' Basketball Coach during that time.  He continued to work on his graduate studies and earned a M.A. from Doane College in Curriculum and Instruction.

He then moved to the Waverly Public Schools district.  He taught multiple subject areas in grades 7 and 8.  He also served as a team leader and was on various district committees.  While at Waverly he was the Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Coach for two seasons and Head Girls' Softball Coach.  He also coached middle school sports including football and track.  During that time he also worked back in the LPS system as a coach at Lincoln East High School.  He was the Varsity Girls' Basketball Assistant Coach and helped lead the Spartans to the Class A state title in 2004 and then coached the Junior Varsity team for one season.

Jeff then had the opportunity to come back to the Lincoln Public Schools system to teach as well.  He taught 6th grade at Goodrich Middle School for one year and also took the reigns of the Varsity Girls' Basketball program at Lincoln High School.  The next school year he moved to Lincoln High and was on the M Team for 9th graders teaching Civics and Geography.  At Lincoln High he also coached 9th grade Volleyball for a season before changing assignments to Varsity Softball Coach in addition to the basketball duties.  He worked on the C Team taught 9th graders as well as 11th and 12th graders, each in Civics and Geography, and had a section of E-Learning as well..  He has also finished his administrative endorsement for Educational Administration from UNL.

He currently is the Assistant Athletic Director at Lincoln Northeast High School.
