After graduating from UNL, Susan began her teaching career as a mathematics teacher at Lincoln East Jr/Sr High School. Then moved to Everett Junior High / Park Middle School. She continued her studies and earned her masters degree while teaching at Park Middle School. Upon completing her masters degree she switched areas and joined the ELL (English Language Learners) department but continued to keep her math skills sharp by joining the Doane College faculty and teaches a variety of math courses on the Lincoln campus. Becoming part of the ELL department created opportunities to work in several different schools including: Lefler Middle School, Lincoln East High School, and Culler Middle.
In 2008 she came back to the high school by accepting the ELL department chair position. She contines to teach English and mathematics to Lincoln High's ELL students and also gets to be involved in the administrative side of things as well. It is a perfect marriage of her strenghts and interests and Susan really feels at home and lucky to call herself a faculty member of Lincoln High School.
Susan was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and is proud to call it her home. However, her love of travel has taken her all over the world and even when she is not on a plane going to some far away place....all she has to do is step inside her classroom and the nations come to her.
