I always wanted to be a teacher. So it evolved quite naturally that I would follow my dreams and pursue education. As a young girl, I often imagined how I could make school more "fun" for kids. Today, I hope that my classroom is a vibrant place for learning in which all students feel loved, valued, included, unique and needed.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, I began my teaching career in a one-room school near Ashland, Nebraska. Here I taught kindergarten, fifth and six graders. In 1990 I joined Lincoln Public Schools at Clinton Elementary. Two years later, I began teaching 2nd grade at Pyrtle Elementary. After 25 years in 2nd grade, I made the jump to 4th grade!
