Born in Stilwater, Oklahoma, Steve Ward grew up in Kansas and Nebraska.  He lived in Southern California for 10 years before returning to Nebraska in 1989. He is married with two children who graduated from Lincoln High School and two grandsons. The oldest is currently a middle school student in Lincoln. He has taught at Lefler, Elliott, Dawes, and Northeast in Lincoln, coached tennis for 21years, and is in his 14th year at Lincoln High.

Professional Experience

Graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1974.

Bachelors of Arts Degree in Music Performance from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1979.

Vocational Music Certificate from Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California in 1986.  There he was chosen Bass Student of the Year in 1986.

Completed coursework for Teacher Certification in Special Education at Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1991.

Completed various graduate coursework at University of Nebraska
