About Me

I began college as an Elementary Education/Special Education major. After taking an Introduction to Communication Disorders class, I realized that a career as a Speech-Language Pathologist would allow me to work with persons of all ages and disabilities in several different settings. After working with elementary-aged students for two years in Nebraska City, I returned to Lincoln as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Lincoln North Star. It was intimidating to think about opening a new high school and working with a population of students with whom I had never worked, but it was a fantastic first year. Now I am preparing for my 13th year at North Star. I love working with high school students and helping them with the challenges they face each day. For 7 years, I also worked with the VOICE program for 18-21 year-old adults who learn job skills in community settings.
