Greetings!  I am currenty enjoying my 22nd year of teaching, all of which have been at Beattie.  The most rewarding aspect of teaching for me is helping students to overcome their fears and frustrations associated with either academic or emotional challenges.  I'm very grateful for the opportunity to form solid relationships with students in helping them to realize their true potential as individuals, both in and out of school.  I remember my years in school with fondness as I benefitted in countless ways from many teachers who cared a great deal about me as a person and student.  I aim to be a significant influence on kids, particularly from the perspective of good discipline, strong work ethic, and caring for others.

Professional Experience

I grauduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May of 2000 with Bachelors Degrees in Elementary and Special Education.  In August of 2008, I earned my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane University.  I continue to take courses through LPS in relation to improving my instruction and support in the areas of reading decoding and comprehension, math, written expression, emotion regulation, and unit studies.
