Growing up, I found a passion for reading through a summer reading program my mother created for me. As I moved through grade school, I realized I not only loved reading, but I loved English class itself. When I began to think about what I wanted to do with my life, I realized that I wanted to help people. I put these two dreams together, and decided that I wanted to become an English teacher. I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential and continue to pursue my own learning in order to further help and educate students.

Professional Experience

I graduated from Doane College in 2016 with a degree in English/Language Arts with a secondary endorsement. Before graduating, I student taught at Lux Middle School in 8th grade English and knew that middle school was where I wanted to be. My first year of teaching was at Culler Middle School in 7th grade English, and then I moved to Schoo Middle School to teach 8th grade English in 2017. In August 2018, I graduated with my master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane University. I currently serve as the English Liason for Schoo Middle School.
