Maximizing potential in others is the fundamental idea that drives my passion for education.  My educational interests initially developed through my involvement in a mentoring organization called the Nebraska Human Resources Institute.  For three years, I had the pleasure of working with a Lincoln High School student named, Emma.  Every week, Emma and I would meet for breakfast at the McDonald's across the street at 6 AM because that was the only time her schedule would allow.  We would talk about her individual talents and strengths as a leader, and brainstorm ways for her to intentionally invest her talents in ways that would positively impact her peers.  I hope to emulate similar relationships with my students here at Lincoln High; I want to help them realize their tatents, and learn ways of productively using these talents.
