Many factors have influenced my decision to become a teacher. First and foremost my inspiration came from my mother and grandmother, both were/are teachers. Seeing how they impacted and changed students lives motivated me to become a teacher. Also, my opportunities as a para educator and coach at Culler Middle School inspired me to become a teacher as well. Working with students both inside and outside the classroom was a great learning experience for me. I love the variety and diversity teaching has to offer. Everyday is something new and offers learning experiences for both the students and the teacher.
I graduated from UNL in December of 2012. I began my teaching career as a Special Education Teacher at Papillion-La Vista High School, where I taught a wide variety of classes such as co-taught Geography, Life Skills Math and Pottery. I also spent 5 years teaching life skills at Lux before rejoining the Culler community as a teacher.
