On a personal note my family and I live in Ceresco, so I commute everyday to Lincoln. I married my high school sweetheart, Justin, in 2007 and since then we have been very busy. We adopted a dog, rebuilt our house after a bad storm and had four children. We got Olivia in February of 2008 and learned a lot about parenthood yes she is only a dog, but a major part of our life and has taught us how to be extremely patient. We lost our house to a tornado in June 2008 and had an interesting summer, but it all worked out in the end as we had Henry in April of 2009, Lily in February of 2011, Macy in September of 2013 and Marty in March of 2016. My kids go to school in Wahoo at St. Wencelaus and ride the bus everyday to school. Words cannot describe the love I have for my family! I am a very lucky lady!
As always I am looking forward to another great year of school with lots of learning going on each and every day!
I student taught in kindergarten and 5th grade at Meadow Lane in the fall of 2006 and graduated from Wayne State College with an Early Childhood and Elementary Education degree in December. Then in the spring of 2007 I taught 1st grade in the afternoon at Meadow Lane and I was very fortunate to get hired on full time in the fall of 2007 teaching full day kindergarten and I was there for 10 years. In 2017 I moved to Kooser Elementary to teach kindergarten.
During my time at LPS I graduated with my Masters Degree in May of 2010 and have learned that kindergarten is not what it used to be. Kids are expected to know a lot more than they use to, by the end of the year they are reading, writing, and solving math problems on their own! I participated in a Primarily Math Program at UNL that focused on Math in the early grades. It has truly given me a new perspective on math and I am looking forward to seeing what great mathematicians I have in my classroom in the years to come!
