About Me

I am originally from Superior, Nebraska, which is a small town located in the South Central part of the state. After graduating from Superior High School, I attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. While in college, I worked part-time for the before- and after-school program at Rousseau Elementary School. I was a practicum student at Dawes Middle School, Mickle Middle School, and Lux Middle School. In the Spring of 2009, I returned to Lux for my student teaching. Additionally, I have spent much time volunteering in various schools, including Clinton Elementary School where I was a classroom volunteer and Goodrich Middle School and North Star High School where I met with my TeamMate.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, shopping, traveling, listening to music, being with my friends and family, and watching sports (especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers). I also enjoy volunteering with Launch Leadership.

Professional Experience

I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May of 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education with endorsements in Language Arts and Social Sciences. I completed my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2011 from Doane College and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Doane University in 2020.  I am currently working toward my Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree from Doane.

I taught at Schoo Middle School from its opening in 2009 through the 2016-2017 school year.  There, I taught four years in 6th grade (Language Arts, Math, and Science) and four years in 8th grade English.  I also wrote curriculum for and piloted a Leadership elective course.  I then served as the Middle School English Coordinator for Lincoln Public Schools before returning to Schoo Middle School in the fall of 2018 to serve as Instructional Coordinator.  I then became Associate Principal in 2021.
