I have wanted to teach as long as I remember. As a child and teen, I constantly found opportunities to work with younger children. I spent a lot of time in church nurseries, daycares, and in-home babysitting. During college I volunteered at events hosted by the YMCA, Salvation Army, and other organizations. I now enjoy teaching both at school, and at home. I have a son and a daughter.
Professional Experience
My education started in Wahoo, Nebraska, where I attended K-12. My desire to teach started as young as early as Kindergarten and was encouraged throughout my time there. In the fall of 2002, I started at UNL with a major in Elementary Education. After graduation in May 2006, I substitute taught until I was hired to teach 3rd grade at Brownell Elementary in October 2006. The following year I moved to 2nd grade, where I taught for eight years. During my time teaching second grade, I participated in the Primarily Math program at UNL and earned my Masters Degree in 2013. I taught fourth grade for three years! I have been teaching Computer Science ever since.
