I am originally from Lincoln. I attended several elementary schools, but spent my junior high school years at Dawes and then went to high school at Lincoln Northeast. After high school I attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where I got a degree in History and was endorsed in 7-12 Education. Following graduation I became a substitute teacher for Lincoln Public Schools. I spent 9 1/2 years subbing, traveling from school to school, meeting new students and facing new challenges daily. In May 2013 I received my Masters of Education from Doane College and an endorsement in Special Education K-12.
I live in Lincoln with my husband Anthony and my two daughters Madison and Harper.
