About Me

I received my BA in Elementary Education in 2007 from Simpson College.  I moved to Lincoln, NE after graduation and getting married.  My husband and I had a daughter in the fall of 2013.

I have worked a variety of jobs in the educational field since moving to Lincoln (infant teacher, pre-kindergarten teacher, substitute teacher).

Before working as a teacher of the visually impaired (2018), I worked as a special education para at Belmont Elementary for 5 years.

Professional Experience

While working as a special education para at Belmont I decided that to keep my teaching license up to date, I would go graduate school and add to my degree.  I had the opportunity to work with a student with visual impairments and was drawn to the field.  I started graduate school in the fall of 2017, and will graduate December of 2019 with a masters in Special Education, Visual Impairment.
