Music has always been an integral part of Ms. Hotchkiss's life. She began playing cello in the 8th grade. Since then, she has played with multiple symphonies and chamber ensembles in the US and abroad. Her education includes a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Nebraska, a Master of Music in Cello Performance from the University of Louisville, and a Master of Music in String Pedagogy from the University of Louisville.
Ms. Hotchkiss received her BME from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and both of her MM degrees from University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. In her undergraduate career, she was a winner of the concerto competition. She has been a fellow at Sewanee Music Festival and Eastern Music Festival. During her masters degree she played in the early music ensemble as well as the new music ensemble. She was the cellist of the graduate string quartet for three years. Her quartet was awarded first prize at the McCauley Chamber Music Competition two years in a row. Ms. Hotchkiss currently plays with Lincoln Symphony and teaches private lessons outside of her work in LPS.
