I love teaching at Beattie Elementary! It is such a positive, supportive community to be part of. I began teaching 3rd grade at Beattie in 2014.

I have come into the teaching profession through a bit of an untraditional route. My undergraduate degree was in business administration at Nebraska Wesleyan University. After working for Wesleyan assisting high school students as they transitioned into college, I served as a volunteer substitute preschool teacher. At that point, I rediscovered a love for teaching and learning! Next, I worked as a special education para-educator for three years and knew that the elementary school setting was where I belonged. So, I returned to school and earned a Master's degree in Elementary Teaching from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Personally, my husband Brian and I enjoy following the activities of our children, Shelby (Senior) and Toby (Freshman).
