I grew up in Ruskin, Nebraska on a farm. Throughout my childhood, I enjoyed teaching my siblings and friends about various topics (although they might just call me bossy.) I worked at Deshler's after school program and realized teaching was what I was meant to do.

I attended Doane College where I applied for a Fulbright grant. When I received the grant, I was able to teach English and coach speech and debate at the Foreign Language High School in Pleven, Bulgaria.

This experience strengthened my passion for helping students reach their full potential. Being able to share your own story, spoken or written, is one of the most powerful things a person can do. I want to create the opportunity for all my students to be able to do this.
