Welcome to my teaching profile page.  I am Mr. B J James and this is my 10th year teaching at Southwest High School.  I have been hired to teach multiple sections of Take Charge within the Business Department and could not be more excited to be teaching a class that has such real-world applications for every student.  I was also named department chair at the beginning of this year, and I am very excited about the upcoming changes.

Originally from Kansas, I earned my bachelor's degree from Fort Hays State University where I majored in business management and computer information systems.  After college, I went to work for AGCO Corporation in Hesston, Kansas.  I moved to Lincoln in 2003 to begin coaching football at Doane College.  During my ten years (2003-2012) at Doane, I coached defensive line, defensive backs and coordinated our special teams.  While there, I completed my  master's degree in management.  I turned my attention to earning my teaching certifcation at Concordia University in August of 2012.  While substitute teaching, I received the opportunity to student teach at Lincoln High School and finished during the spring of 2014.  My wife, Ginny, and I have a eight-year old daughter Kaylee and are enjoying our time visiting zoos, children's museums and visiting every playground and park in Lincoln.
