As a Lincoln native, I have been a part of Lincoln Public Schools since 2001 when I began Kindergarten at Zeman Elementary School. I attended Pound Middle School after that, and graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 2014. I began attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln that next fall, and graduated in May of 2018, the same month that I was hired at Park Middle School.
When I'm not at school, I spend a lot of my time outside, usually either biking or playing disc golf. If I'm not outside, I'm probably spending time with my girlfriend and our 4 ridiculous pets. I love watching Husker sports, no matter how painful it might be at times, and I try to travel as much as I can. So far, I've made it to around 35 of the states, and I've left the country a couple of times, including this past summer when I visited Playa Del Carmen for a week.
Professional Experience
I've been a teacher with Lincoln Public Schools since the 2018-2019 school year. I've spent the first 5 years of my career teaching English 8 & English 8D at Park Middle School. While at Park, I also spent at least part of my time serving as the yearbook advisor, cross country assistant coach, English department liaison, 8th grade team leader, and member of the SIP and MTSS teams. I was hired to be the English Department Chair at Lincoln Standing Bear for our opening school year.
Prior to my time at Park, I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a Secondary English and Language Arts Education major from 2014 until 2018. In my time at UNL, I worked with several different LPS schools, including:
Lincoln Northeast, Lincoln East, Lincoln North Star, Lincoln High (Student teaching), Mickle, Irving, and Lefler.
