¡Hola y bienvenidos! My name is Clarisa Almazán and I am beyond exctied to start this school year! I am a graduate of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and am also a graduate of Lincoln Pius X High School. I have had experience coaching dance, track and women's soccer as well as working with Lincoln's Parks and Recreation's summer day camps.
Spanish is a subject near and dear to my heart. I am what we like to call a "heritage speaker" and have been speaking spanish at home for as long as I can remember. Both my parents are from San Luis, San Luis Potosí, México and are both teachers here in LPS. I was lucky enough to have spent summers growing up, in Mexico, really getting down to my roots and living out all that I get to teach now. The best memories I have of learning language were always surrounded by stories, music and of course food. Similarly, I like to keep the same idea in the classroom alive by using strategies that are natural and engaging. My philosophy is "in order to learn a language you must first live it."
