I’m a Lincoln native and upon graduating from high school I entered the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in hopes of finding my career calling. I dabbled with various majors before friends and family encouraged me to explore education. I substitute taught for one year before I was hired at Goodrich Junior High to teach ninth grade English. I taught ninth grade English for 16 years before the principal at the time, Dr. Bess Scott, encouraged me to pursue a counseling degree so I could remain at Goodrich once the ninth grade students moved to high school. I was hired as a counselor at Goodrich Middle School in 2003 and have been devoting my time and energy to this endeavor ever since.
