I grew up in the small town of Sutton NE located 70 miles southwest of Lincoln and graduated from Sutton High School. I attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and graduated in 1985. After a year of substitute teaching, I was hired by Lincoln Public Schools. This is my 35th year of teaching - all in 6th grade!
My family:
- Husband - Clair, works at Ameritas
- Son - Parker Schoen, Works at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha; grandson Koda (Parker's dog, a mini-australian shepherd)
- Son - Cooper, Attending Law School at the University of Minnesota
- Daughter - Caelyn, attends South Dakota State University, on the Softball Team
- Dog - Gizmo - maltese/shih tzu, 13 years old
