I am Connie Peterson, and I teach 5th grade at Morley Elementary School. I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska where I was a graduate of Lincoln Public Schools, attending Hawthorne Elementary School, Millard Lefler Junior High School, and Lincoln High School. I graduated from UNL in 1986, and I earned a Masters Degree in Historical Studies from NWU in 2013. My husband, Tony, and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary in June. Over the years we have enjoyed searching for and collecting old cars, jukeboxes, advertising signs, old glassware, and antique furniture.  We have raised two children. Our son, Andrew, works for Oracle and lives in Kansas City. His wife, Caiti, took time off from teaching 5th grade to stay home and take care of their boys. Henry is 2 and Tucker is 1. Katelyn, our daughter, teaches 4th grade at Eastridge Elementary School in Lincoln. She is married to Alec Johnson, an occupational therapist at Bryan Health, and they have a 5 year old son, Noah and a 3 year old daughter, Charlotte! Tony and I enjoy spending time with all our grandchildren. Taz and Elly, our two cats, keep us entertained as well.

Professional Experience

When I was a young girl, I always enjoyed “playing school” with my friends. Of course, I was always the teacher! I admired my aunt who was a teacher and loved hearing about her stories and her experiences. So, I knew that teaching would be my chosen profession. I began my teaching career in 1987 as a Special Education teacher at Lefler Middle School, teaching grades 7-9. I moved to Morley in 1995 to teach one year of 6th grade before 6th grade was no longer a part of the elementary schools. I have been teaching 5th grade ever since and look forward to starting my 37th year! This is my second year at Wysong.

It is my hope that we can work together to make this an incredible year! Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions at any time. Your patience, flexibility, and grace will be greatly appreciated!
