About Me

Hello! My name is Mrs. Cathey and I am SO EXCITED to be a part of Adams Kindergarten team!  Most of all I am THRILLED to be your child’s teacher!  It’s going to be a fantastic year full of learning, new adventures and new friends!!  I can’t wait to see how much your child grows during their first year of school! I’m excited to get to know your child, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me.

I was born and raised in Deshler, NE and was the first of three kids.  I have a younger sister, Manda and a younger brother, Brody.  I have one nephew, Braeden who will be going into 2nd Grade.  He is a super big part of Jacob and I’s lives.  After high school I attended Doane College where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development.  After graduating I continued my education by getting a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane as well.

I am married to my amazing husband Jacob, who is also a teacher!  He recently accepted a new position at Crete High School as a Math teacher and Head Baseball Coach.  In January we welcomed our twins, Declan and Everleigh.  They have added so much joy, laughter and excitement to our family.  We have also decided to build a home in Crete and will be moving in at the end of August. What a crazy year it has been for our family but I wouldn’t want it any other way!  We also have a cat named Lily who loves having the house to herself and taking naps…which doesn’t happen as often anymore!

This is my seventh year of teaching and I couldn’t be more excited that you and I get to partner in another year of learning.  This fall I am delighted to have Miss Kassebaum join Room 102 for her first semester of student teaching.  She is very excited to partner with us as she prepares for her first year of teaching.

I’m so excited to be your teacher and for you to be a part of Room 102 at Adams.  His is going to be an AMAZING year!
