Hello, my name is Derek Scheich and I am a Social Studies Teacher at Southwest High School. I will be teaching AP Macroeconomics, World History, Government & Politics, and Geography. Previously I taught at Dawes Middle School. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and Human Sciences from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in May of 2011.

My number one passion is building positive relationships with students in order to show them how our instructional content applies to the "real world". I really enjoy coming up with activities, simulations, worksheets, and assessments that allow students to interact with one another and continue to grow as individuals. I look forward to interacting and guiding students this coming year as we explore the events and theories that have helped shape the world we live in.

I also serve as the Head Coach for the LSW Boys Soccer Program.
