About Me

I LOVE teaching third grade.  It is a pivotal year, one with lots of learning and lifelong memories.  Writing genres include personal essay, research report, and personal narratives.  Our reading units are divided into six themes, each one includes five different units.  The students will be exposed to many different genres in reading!  Multiplication and division are math favorties for many third graders.   Third grade science topics will include energy, fossils, simple machines, and embryology.

Hi!  My name is Deirdre Walton.  I am one of the third grade teachers at Morley.  I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska.  I attended Meadowlane Elementary, Culler Junior High, and Lincoln East High School.  University of Nebraska in Lincoln provided my college education.  I have always loved kids, so teaching was a natural fit for me.  As a young child, I often babysat many of the neighorhood children.  I was also able to volunteer at Hartley Elementary helping my cousin teach summer school.  Teaching is my passion!
