I was born and raised in Lincoln Nebraska. I attended Pershing Elementary, Mickle Middle School, and graduated from Northeast High School in 1999. After graduation I began my college education at the University of Nebraska Lincoln.
In September of 2002 I married my high school sweetheart. My husband Jason and I keep busy with our three kids. Jayden is a Sophmore at East High. Addyson is an 8th grader at Lux and Clayton is a 5th grader at Pyrtle.
While attending Northeast High School I was given the opportunity to work along side elementary students as a Pershing Pal at Pershing Elementary. This was when I came to the realization that I wanted to be a teacher. I LOVED watching the excitement the students had for learning! In education every day is a new and exciting day!
I graduated in 2004 from UNL with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a concentration in special education. Upon graduating I accepted a job with LPS teaching 4th grade reading and 5th grade math at Beattie Elementary in the mornings and special education at Eastridge Elementary in the afternoons. I taught in this position for one year then moved to Eastridge full time as a second grade teacher. I taught 2nd grade for 14 years before moving to 4th grade.
