About Me

I teach Family and Consumer Sciences - the class students LOVE to take!!

I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management.  While I was a student, I interned at Walt Disney World and I got to be a part of the opening team of the Pinnacle Bank Arena as the Suite Supervisor.  When I graduated, I started working as an event coordinator for the Office of Admissions.  In my role, I planned recruitment events like Red Letter Days, the Diversity Leadership Symposia Series, and College Access Days.  It was during these events that I really felt a calling to teach because I wanted to help young people know there are people in the world that believe in them and their future!!!

In 2017, I started my Master's Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and started working as a Behavior Interventionist at Culler Middle School.  I spent just over 2 years in that role! In the the fall of 2019, I was a substitute teacher and got to meet students in all grades, all over Lincoln! In the spring, I student taught at Southwest High School, and although my experience was cut short - I had a really positive experience and enjoyed my virtual graduation from my living room in May 2020.

When I'm not at school - you can find me with my husband, Dan, and our children, Jack and Lena! We love spending time with our extended families.  Hobbies of mine include baking, sewing, and kid activities!
