About Me

Ways you can help your child at home....

Reading - Research has shown that reading 15-20 minutes per day improves student's achievement in school. Log into your student's Wonders account to preview, review stories from the week and to play fun games related to skills.

Math - Look for homework most days. If there has been a test, there won't be homework. Knowledge of basic math facts will be very helpful throughout the year. Daily practice is encouraged. The link below is a cool place to practice math facts. A very excited parent shared this with me.

I grew up in Geneva, Nebraska. While there, I taught a variety of things.....Sunday School, Bible School, and swimming lessons. Even though my Grandma knew all along I should be a teacher, it took me awhile to figure that out. I graduated from UNL with a degree in Ag Communications. After working at a newspaper and having a family,  I worked several years as a para. This lead me to the realization that I should be a teacher. I am thankful for the strong Teacher Education and Masters of Curriculum program offered at Doane College.

I am married to Mark. We have a beef and grain production and marketing business. When I'm not at school, you'll often find me working in the pasture or field. We have 2 boys. Both have graduated from college and are enjoying the adult life and working. Our oldest son is married. He and his wife recently welcomed our first graddaughter to our family. Mark and I like to travel and explore the great outdoors. As a family, we enjoy skiing, water activities, and attending sporting events. In my free time, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with friends.
