About Me

 Gavin Maas was born and raised in a military family and had the privilege of living in Japan, Belgium, and the United States. Mr. Maas's first language was Japanese; he attended an international school until he relocated to Nebraska. Mr. Maas enjoys spending time outdoors and hunting with his friends. When Mr. Maas is not sitting in a hunting blind, he enjoys watching sports and playing video games. Mr. Maas also coaches several intramurals at Irving including wrestling, basketball, and track.

Mr. Maas firmly believes that the key to a good classroom environment is establishing connections with his students. Mr. Maas' students will tell you he has high expectations for his classes, and he pushes each student to always give their best effort.


Professional Experience

 Mr. Maas graduated from Peru State College in May of 2023 with a degree in Secondary Education and Social Sciences. Mr. Maas also graduated from the honors program during his time at Peru State, where his research focus was on American Foreign Policy post-WW2. 

Mr. Maas also received a master's degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University in May of 2024.
