My name is Gina Nelson and I teach 2nd grade . I have been teaching 2nd grade for 21 years and this will be my 13th year teaching at Zeman. I graduated from Doane College in Crete, NE with a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education.
After graduating from college, my husband Eric and I moved to a small town in Arizona called Bullhead City where we began our teaching careers. I taught in a K-2 Elementary School that had a student population of 700! The weather was wonderful all the time and we had lots of great adventures, but once our oldest son was born we knew we wanted to be closer to our family. So we moved to Lincoln. I taught for five years as a 2nd grade teacher at Belmont Elementary. Then I was fortunate enough to get hired to teach 2nd grade at Zeman, and I have been here ever since!
My husband teaches 6th grade at Scott Middle School. We have 3 boys...Easton, Grant, and Evan. Easton attends Iowa Western Community College, majoring in Sports Media Technology. Grant is a Junior and Evan is Freshman at LSW. We enjoy watching our sons play various sports and hanging out together as a family at the lake. We also have a Yorkie named Lucy.
