About Me

My name is Holly Kutschkau and I have a confession to make: I didn't always want to teach.

I used to tell my mother I wasn't going to even though I loved school and thought my teachers were great. I was always changing what I wanted "to be when I grew up" as a kid. I was going to be an author one day, an interior designer the next. I just wanted to give everything a go and see what happened.

When I arrived at Wayne State College, I realized I loved to create things and work with people. I enrolled in studio art and counseling classes. I loved what I was learning and longed to share it with people. My instructors and teachers had done so much for my education--why not pay it forward?

It's true, I didn't always want to teach, but I have always loved to learn. I figured there wasn't a better way to be surrounded by new things, new people and new experiences than to be in a school. So I added some education classes and before I knew it, I was student teaching right here in Lincoln. I fell head over heels for this district, this community and the wonderful students, staff, and faculty filling the halls and classrooms.

It is my joy and honor to serve in the art classroom. I am excited to teach your student the fundamentals and wonders of the creative process. I firmly believe art can benefit any person and can add richness to life like nothing else can. Thank YOU for this opportunity. I am excited to continue my journey in the classroom.
