I grew up in Minden, Nebraska, but I've enjoyed the last 12 years of my life as a Lincoln resident. I live with my wife (Jena), daughter (Sylvia), and our dog (Larry).
In 2014, I became a paraeducator at Yankee Hill's behavioral program and began working on my teaching certification at Doane University. The experience at Yankee Hill was incredible. It helped me understand how meaningful and fulfilling an educator's role can be in society.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family, listening to good music, running, watching documentaries, running the world's greatest fantasy football league, and cheering on the Huskers and Raiders.
My personal heroes are my mom, Stephen Colbert, John Adams, and Freddie Mercury.
