After a job recruiting students for a college in Kansas, I decided that the classroom was where I wanted to be. After finishing my teaching certification in Pennsylvania I began teaching 3 and 4yr olds in the Head Start Program in New Florence, PA. After my husband, Brent, took an Associate Professor postition at Texas Tech University, we moved ourselves and our 2 children to Lubbock Texas where I taught Kindergarten for 7 years. When the opportunity for Brent to teach at UNL came up, we jumped at it seeing as it was coming home for me and close to home for him. I spent the majority of my childhood in Lincoln and attended Raymond Central High School and Brent is from Scott City, KS. I began teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade at McPhee Elementary before the opportuity to study to become a school librarian came up. I have served as the librarian for McPhee Elementary, Randolph and Pyrtle Elementary and I am now entering my 8th year here at Irving.
