Growing up, education was stressed as being very important. My grandmother and two older sisters were teachers. I naturally gravitated to being around those that had an interest in the community and especially working with children.
When I was in High School, I was excited to work 1/2 days in an Elementary School 5 days a week. During that experience, I became introduced to a program that worked with children who had learning disabilities.
I graduated from Briar Cliff College, in Sioux City, Iowa, studying Psychology and
Secondary Education. I have been working with teens and children in a variety of settings in the South and Midwest.
After arriving in Lincoln in 1996, my children attended Cavett. It was and still is, in my opinion, a quality school with caring, compassionate, and highly educated, and dedicated staff.

In 2009, I started working for Clinton Elementary School. After 3 years of working in the Special Education Dept. and RTI Programs there, I came to Cavett for the RTI position.
It is truly a gift to work with young children,as they develop and learn how to read.
There is nothing I would rather do!
