My name is Jim Hill and I am in my 14th year of teaching here at Lincoln Southwest High School!
I did my student teaching here in the spring of 2006. I loved the block scheduling, the kids, the school, and pretty much my entire student teaching experience, and, as luck would have it, I ended up getting a job here at Southwest, where I have been ever since.
I have lived in Lincoln my entire life. I attended Lincoln Southeast High School, where I played basketball and baseball. I always enjoyed Spanish class starting at Pound Middle School and continued on at Southeast, finishing five years by the end of high school. I continued my studies at the University of Nebraska here in Lincoln, and studied in Querétaro, Mexico for the summer of 2005. I graduated in May 2006 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor's Degree in Education with an emphasis on Spanish and finished my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane University in the summer of 2015.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, sports (especially NBA and NFL), playing basketball, playing video games, working out, watching Netflix, and spending time with my family and friends... especially my sons, Sawyer and Sebastian.
I love teaching at Southwest and I look forward to having a great year with all of you!
