I grew up in Lincoln attending LPS schools. I am a former student at the school I teach at now (Irving Middle School). I played football and throw discus and shot put in track for Lincoln Southeast. We even won a state championship my junior year in Football. After graduating in 2000, I attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and received my B.A. in Business Administration and my B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Biology. During college, I studied aboard in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Mexico. I also interned for Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska in the United States Senate. After college, I completed an education graduate program through Doane College to get my teaching license.
Immediately after graduate school, I was a substitute teacher for LPS for six months before obtaining my first teaching job in Colorado. For the last five years I have been teaching in Parachute, CO (on the western slope of CO, close to Grand Junction or Glenwood Springs). I spent two years teaching computer class and the last three years teaching social studies, all at the middle school.
I enjoy sports and the outdoors. In my free time, I travel extensively, usually to go fishing or skiing. I also love to scuba dive and raft (You can see why I loved living in Colorado). In Nebraska, I like spending time with my wife and our two dogs (a lab and a wheaten terrier). I am a huge Husker Football fan and go to many games after year.
