I grew up in rural Nebraska on a dairy farm in central NE where both my parents reside today. We played outside and helped out on the farm so I was naturally curious. I also participated in many sports through my high school career.
I had a wonderful mentor in the science classroom and knew I wanted to pursue a degree in education in high school. I attended Wayne State College and I have been teaching and learning Science over 20 years now! Before teaching at Bryan Community Focus Program, I was a coach and a 7-8 educator at Falls City Middle School located in Falls City, NE.
I love that science continues to change and evolve. The opportunity that students get for a "fresh start" at Bryan is one of the great reasons I enjoy being involved with our program. It gives me an opportunity to form connections with students due to our smaller atmosphere as well.
My husband Jonathan and I have two elementary aged children who keep us busy with activities. In my down time, you can find me reading (short stories), being outside soaking up sunshine, trying to grow a garden, fishing, or getting together with family or friends.
Lastly - Bryan is a one of a kind place that I hope you check out! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
