About Me

Music is a universal language and is an essential part of the human experience. During class, students will use music as a vehicle to explore the diverse and unique cultures in the world.  Students will make academic connections through various learning styles and use their creativity to demonstrate their learning.  My mission is to teach people through music; not teach people about music.  Students will experience teamwork, develop self-confidence, and learn the values and behaviors needed to be a member of a community or ensemble.

Greetings!  I am excited to be the vocal music teacher at Schoo Middle School this year!  I grew up in Lincoln singing in many choirs, playing viola in orchestras, and playing piano for fun!  I currently perform in multiple choirs.  I am a member of American Choral Directors Association, Nebraska Music Educators Association, and Sigma Alpha Iota (music fraternity).  I attend several music conferences every year so that I can continue to learn and grow as a music educator.  Besides my love of music, I am also very passionate about sports.  I enjoy running with my iPod, playing basketball, and watching Husker football!
