Jason Shanahan attended Elizabeth High School in the Denver, Colorado area.  He received his undergraduate degree from Fort Hays State University in 1998.  Jason has served as an educator for Goddard Public Schools (Kansas), Kearney Public Schools, Bellevue Public Schools, and Lincoln Public Schools.  He began his work with LPS in 2009 as a Physical Education and Health teacher as well as Team Leader at Schoo Middle School.  That same year, Jason received his Master's degree in Instructional Leadership from Doane College.  Jason served the Schoo Middle School community as an Instructional Coordinator from 2012-2014. Jason then served the Irving Middle School community as Associate Principal from 2014-2016.  From 2016-2021 Jason served Irving in the role of building principal.  In the fall of 2021, he became principal of Mickle Middle School.
