Welcome to my profile page! My journey to the teaching profession has been a long road, but well worth the effort. I majored in horticultural sciences at UNL and worked for several years in the horticulture and plant pathology research greenhouses. I have always enjoyed working with plants, and I am an avid gardener to this day. After graduating from UNL, I traveled to the east coast to complete an MS in plant pathology at North Carolina State University. My research focused on diseases affecting Irish potatoes and I worked with growers to reduce pollution from fertilizers into groundwater reservoirs. In addition to my research responsibilities, I was also a teaching assistant for a plant pathology graduate course. This was one of first times I knew that I enjoyed teaching and helping people to understand science.
I am now in my 9th year at North Star and continue to be a proud Gator!
