About Me

At Humann Elementary, I provide reading instruction to intervention students in a small group setting.  As an interventionist, I support students that have been identified as needing academic assistance in reading literacy which includes fluency and/or comprehension. Lessons are planned to support the learning in the regular classroom using a variety of researched based interventions.   I am looking forward to working with and supporting students through this school year.

I was born in Florida where I spent most of my life prior to moving to Lincoln.  My family moved to Lincoln in 2002.   During my time in Lincoln I have taught preschool at Wee Wisdom Academy while I acquired my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an Endorsement as a Reading Specialist from Doane College in Lincoln in 2009.  I taught first grade at Beattie Elementary for seven years before becoming a Reading Recovery/interventionist at Humann.

My interests include spending time with my husband, family and two grandchildren, traveling, football (Gator Fan), reading, and Florida beaches.

Professional Experience

I began my teaching career in Florida after graduating from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville in 1985.  I have had the opportunity to teach in several different positions and districts due to living in different areas of Florida.  I have taught 7th and 8th grade math , 2nd, 4th, 5th,  preschool  and first grades.
