I  grew up by Pioneer Park on an acreage and had horses, a couple of feed calves, cats and dogs and helped my dad with his commercial hay baling business.  I went to Yankee Hill elementary, Lincoln Lutheran Jr. High and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1978.  I then worked construction jobs and the assembly line at Kawasaki until January 1979.

I attended UNL from January 1979 to December 1982, earning my Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education in Industrial Arts.  I also earned my Trades and Industry Endorsement. I have completed an additional 41 graduate hours since earning my bachelors degree in 1982.  I then substituted in LPS, Norris, Waverly, Palmyra, and Lincoln Lutheran for the next year and a half and also worked on a residential framing crew.

In August of 1984 I accepted my first full time teaching and coaching position at Class C Wymore Southern and taught there for 14 years from 1984 to 1998.  I taught Drafting and Woodworking classes and also coached football, wrestlling and track and field.

In 1998 I resigned and created a business called, "Hennecke Hunts".  I ran a hunting guide service here in Nebraska guiding hunters from all over the country for the next 10 years, with the first 3 years doing it full time and then part time the last 7 years, while I went back into full time teaching.

I have also worked as a summer camp counselor at Cheley Colorado Camps in Estes Park and Glen Haven Colorado for 6 different summers in the 1980's and 1990's.

In 2001, I was offered and accpeted a middle school teacing position at Lux middle school.  In 2003 I was hired here at Southwest high school where I currently teach Woodworking classes, Introduction to Landscape Design, and an introductory class called IED 1, or beginning CAD.

I am also an active Hunter Education Instructor for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission since 1989.

I am married to my wonderful wife Kim and we have 3 children and live on a 42 acre farm, southeast of Lincoln.  I also raise Labrador retrievers. I love to hunt and fish and spend my time with my family and Labrador retrievers.
