Welcome to the Lincoln Public Schools Preschool Program!
Lincoln Public Schools Preschool Program offers many different learning opportunities. In inclusive classroom settings each class provides active learning, adult-child interactions, a safe and engaging learning environment, daily routines and child assessment. Each child learns through a variety of developmentally appropriate activities in the classroom and during home visits.
Curriculum Information
Creative Curriculum® for Preschool is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning. Creative Curriculum for Preschool is based on five fundamental principles:
-
Positive interactions and relationships with adults provide a critical foundation for successful learning.
-
Social–emotional competence is a significant factor in school success.
-
Constructive, purposeful play supports essential learning.
-
The physical environment affects the type and quality of learning interactions.
-
Teacher–family partnerships promote development and learning.
Second Step is the Social Emotional Learning Curriculum. This curriculum helps preschoolers:
The Early Childhood Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavior (MTSS-B) provides a framework of evidence-based practices that promote young children's social emotional competence, and prevents and addresses challenging behaviors. The supports include: high quality learning environments that have positive behavior expectations and predictable routines; the intentional teaching of social-emotional strategies; and individualized interventions for children who need a positive behavior support plan.

I grew up in Hastings, Nebraska. I moved to Lincoln for college in 2005 where I attended UNL to study Inclusive Early Childhood Education. After graduating from UNL I taught at North Star High School in the child/parent center for one year. I then made the transition to teaching preschool at Saratoga. This will be my 10th year at Saratoga and I look forward to working with the students and families!
Professional Experience
I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a BS in Inclusive Early Childhood Education.
