My name is Kristi Schirmer and I am the principal at Huntington Elementary School. I grew up in Fremont, Nebraska. I earned my teaching degree from The University of Nebraska - Lincoln in K-12 vocal and instrumental music. I taught elementary vocal music in Olathe, Kansas, before returning home to Nebraska. Upon my return, I attended The University of Nebraksa - Lincoln to obtain my elementary general education endorsement. My teaching career in Lincoln began at Belmont Elementary where I taught kindergarten, first, third, and fourth grades. In 2007, I transferred to Rousseau Elementary where I taught third grade and eventually was hired for the coordinator position. In 2012 I was fortunate to have the opportunity to open Kloefkorn Elementary as the assistant principal. In the fall of 2014, I became the principal at Zeman Elementary. In the fall of 2020, I was named the principal at Huntington Elementary. My husband T.J. and I have four children. We love watching our children do what they love to do! You can frequently find us watching music concerts, dance recitals, theatre performances, and basketball games. I am honored to serve the Huntington community!
