I am originally from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, in Canada. I always knew I wanted to do something in the field of education, and attended Minot State University in North Dakota. I received both my bachelor and master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology while there. I met my husband in North Dakota, and we moved to California for a couple years, then the Seattle, Washington area for nine years, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota for 15 years. In that time I have worked in a private clinic, an elementary school with specialized programs for students with a variety of learning challenges, a challenging behavior program, a preschool program, an elementary school, and as a member of an autism evaluation team. I feel I am one of the luckiest people around—after more than 30 years, I still love what I do! Communication is a vital part of everyone’s life, and it is my privilege to help students at Lux with their communication skills.
