About Me

Growing up I would draw on the couch for hours. Stacks of scrawled-on printer paper flooded the living room. My love of drawing sustained me throughout my childhood, adolescent break-ups, and early adulthood angst.

After receiving my BFA in printmaking at the University of Montana, I worked as a print shop coordinator and outreach educator for a local community arts center in Missoula, MT. I organized, facilitated and taught programming introducing adults to printmaking through workshops on drawing, painting, printmaking ( including relief, intaglio, collograph, and screen printing). I made printmaking accessible to students in rural schools by creating a drive-by-press program, The Last Best Ramblin’ Press. Driving from mountaintop town to town I witnessed first hand how art could spark conversations and transform a community.

In 2014, I moved to Nebraska to farm and soon became a mother. My personal work became introspective, exploring my conflicting emotions about motherhood and the impacts of farming on mental health. I co-founded a monthly informal critique group that brought dozens of diverse Nebraskans together to discuss their work and to collaborate. This inspiring forum reignited my passion for instruction and social impact, which led me to begin teaching art in an afterschool program. I decided to pursue teaching full time and am profoundly happy to join the Art Department at Lincoln High.
