I have loved being around children since I was a child myself.
As a young girl, I used to gather up the neighborhood kids and my sister and I would play "school". I remember taking paper and putting it through the sewing maching to make a perforation so that I could tear off part of the page to send home as homework.
I started babysitting at 9 years old and also worked at a daycare center for 5 years while in high school and college.
I knew that someday I would work in a profession that helped people and when I was a junior in high school I watched the movie, Children of a Lesser God. This movie was about a special education teacher working with deaf and hard of hearing students. When the movie was over, I ran up the stairs and told my mom, I wanted to be a Speech-Language Pathologist, and that's just what I did.
I love children and have a passion for students with special needs!!!
