Dr. Marci Malone DeAmbrose is currently a vocal music teacher for Lincoln Public Schools and an adjunct music faculty member at Doane University. She has enjoyed a career as a music teacher at the elementary, secondary, and post secondary levels for Lincoln Public Schools, the Blue Valley School District in Kansas, the Northside Independent School District in Texas, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Concordia University in Seward. Dr. DeAmbrose also serves as a commissioner for the Music in Schools and Teacher Education Commission and an ad-hoc reviewer for the International Journal of Music Education. Students under her direction have performed at the International Thespian Festival, the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Conference, and are frequently requested to perform with the local symphony orchestra as well as choirs from local higher education institutions.
In addition to creative activity, Dr. DeAmbrose values music education research. She is a frequent presenter for the Nebraska Music Educators Association (NMEA) conference, the NAfME conference, the International Society for Music Education (ISME) World Conference, Music in Schools and Teacher Education Commission (MISTEC), Vision of Research in Music Education (VRME) Conference, Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA), and the Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) In-service Workshop. She received her Bachelor of Music Education from Baker University, her Master of Music and Artist Diploma from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, and her Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is looking forward to using all of her different experiences to further the profession and promote making music by all.
