I was finally able to fulfill my lifelong dream of being a teacher at the age of 38! With 3 kids and a supportive husband I went back to college to get my Elementary and Special Education degrees, both at Doane College. I then received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, also through Doane. In addition I have 18 post graduate hours in math and math instruction. My teaching career began at McPhee Elementary. I taught Special Education for 3 years and second grade for 6 years. I then came to Everett where I taught second grade for 6 years and am now going on my 4th year teaching first grade.
My husband and I met at East High while playing trumpet in the band. We've been married 38 years and have 3 grown children, a daughter in law and a son in law. Tim is the principal of Roper Elementary.
